Bananas Lime Foster
This is a creation for teetotalers or for anyone who has an aversion to alcohol. I use fresh lime juice to replace the rum and banana liqueur. So this recipe is an all-time favorite for us especially when small children are part of the gathering. It is super quick and very easy to prepare. I usually prepare this right before I am ready to serve dessert. The caramel is sweet yet tangy and delicious.
INGREDIENTS
2 ripe but firm bananas ½ cup soft brown sugar 2 tablespoon maple syrup 1 lime (Juiced) ½ teaspoon cinnamon 2 tablespoon unsalted butter
DIRECTIONS
Add butter and sugar to frying pan set over medium heat. Using a wooden spoon, stir until butter and sugar melts. Add maple syrup, cinnamon, and lime juice. When mixture begins to boil, add bananas and cook for 30 seconds, turn to other side and cook for an additional 30 seconds. Arrange bananas and ice cream in a bowl or dessert plate. Spoon caramel over ice cream.
