Mapula's Quick & Easy Chili Bowl

Mapula's Easy Chili Bowl

This is the season for a bowl of chili whether you are inviting friends to watch a football game or having a game night. It’s easy, it’s quick and it’s a “throw everything in together” kind of dish. Just have your friends bring their favorite beer, you provide the sour cream to temper the heat from the chili, lots of cheddar cheese and garlic bread. This Chili is made with ground turkey but you may substitute ground beef for ground turkey. Most of our guests could not taste the difference.

INGREDIENTS

1 pound ground turkey (use dark meat only) 2 tablespoon olive oil ½ teaspoon kosher salt ½ teaspoon black pepper 1 bouillon chicken cube crushed 3 tablespoon chili powder 1 medium onion chopped 1 green bell pepper chopped 2 sticks celery 2 tablespoon tomato paste 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce 2 garlic clove chopped 2 tablespoon chopped cilantro 2 habaneros finely chopped (use gloves) 1 can chopped tomatoes 1 can red beans, drained 1 can black beans, drained 1 can baked beans

DIRECTIONS

In a Le Creuset or heavy bottom saucepan, saute ground turkey in olive oil for five minutes over medium heat.. Add remaining ingredients except three cans of beans, tomato paste and diced tomatoes. Continue cooking, stirring occasionally for 10 minutes until vegetables are cooked through and tender. Add tomato paste and stir to combine then all beans and tomatoes. Adjust seasoning with salt and black pepper and simmer for 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together into a deliciously hot and spicy chili that will warm your insides.
