Autumn Table Setting
The fall season known to some as autumn, is my most favorite season. This time of year boasts warm and deep shades of burnt orange, deep burgundy, smooth brown, crimson red, dark maple and tree bark. I see these colors in the leaves as they gently fall from trees on a sunny and slightly windy day or by a fiercely windy and rainy day in October. While others see these colors in fashion magazines on super models, I see and use these colors on my fall table setting, which is simple and elegant.
Things to gather: Copper chargers, which I’ve had for years, as a result, they are weathered and slightly tarnished which gave the table a beautiful rustic look. These were purchased years ago but I recommend these chargers which achieve a similar style.
I used green placemats and burnt orange napkins which were purchased from Pier 1 Imports. I folded one plain napkin and a sort of paisley patterned napkin inside the other to create a beautiful flair then pulled them through a small wooden giraffe napkin holder.
Lastly, a simple flower arrangement of yellow gladiolus, sunflowers and alstroemerias were placed on a nearby credenza for a stunning contrast to the colors on the table setting.
You can dress this table with my Port Spiked Raisin Carrot Cake, Spiced Mulled Wine and Cinnamon Hot Chocolate.
Stay tuned for my next fall table setting in a few weeks.
Pro Tip: Once you have decided on a menu, the next thing you do is set the dinner table.
